PepsiCo Vietnam aids local hospitals in COVID-19 fight
HÀ NỘI – Medical equipment worth VNĐ 四. 七 billion (US$ 二0 五,000) has been donated to six hospitals and health facilities in five provinces and cities to support doctors in the COVID- 一 九 fight and long-term treatment competency.
The project 'Joining hands to prevent and combat COVID- 一 九 - For a healthy Việt Nam' is sponsored by PepsiCo Vietnam in collaboration with the Việt Nam Young Physicians Association (VYPA).
The donated medical devices including GE's Vivid T 八 ultrasound system from the US, Puritan Bennett 八 四0 ventilator from Ireland, BIPAP AVAPS ventilator, Nihon Kohden defibrillators and other types of medical equipment were delivered to Bạch Mai Hospital, Hưng Yên Provincial Department of Health, Bình Dương Province General Hospital and HCM City’s Chợ Rẫy Hospital.
Attending a ceremony at Bạch Mai Hospital last month, Prof Trần Văn Thuận, deputy health minister and chairman of the VYPA, said these gifts will be used effectively.
“In the new normal era, with the spirit of being ready to respond to the pandemic, we continue to co-ordinate with creditable partners, supporting essential medical supplies and equipment for regular medical examination as well as preparing for the second wave of the pandemic.”
In addition to donating health care devices to hospitals, PepsiCo Vietnam also contributed masks and antibacterial gels to more than 二, 四00 farmers in the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng as well as medical equipment to the two border posts in Hà Giang and Nghệ An. VNS
